      <description>On page 109, Yanek notices a Contrast and Contradiction regarding the treatment of the Jews.

He thinks, “Yes, the Nazis had clubs and guns, but there were far more of us than there were of them. If we turned on them all at once, we could overcome them” (109).  

 How are the German guards able to retain control over the Jews despite being greatly outnumbered?  Using examples from Chapters 9-14, include at least one expertly chosen piece of text to support your ideas.
