Although the quantity of African American images on media has increased, the quality of these images has not.<br><br>Films often exaggerate traits among different ethnic/racial groups. This leads to an over-generalized and often insulting, perception of minority groups. <br><br>For example, the film <mark>Birth of a Nation</mark>, presented African-American men as uneducated, savage brutes who preyed on innocent white women. It framed African Americans in this critical way and this portrayal haunts the black community to this day. Also, <br>the first movie ever screened inside the White House featured multiple white actors in blackface. <br><br>The <strong>Ku Klux Klan</strong>  (KKK) is an American white supremacist hate group whose primary targets are African Americans. The group employed violence as a means of pushing back reconstruction and its enfranchisement of African Americans. </div>]]></description>
