Sagrada Familia (2022)

A family who conceals a groundbreaking secret moves to Madrid to start a new life from scratch. Since then, they get on with their neighbours, who slowly disrupt their double life as their past threatens to come back.

The main characters are shown in the picture: Gloria (Najwa Nimri), the mother; Aitana (Carla Campra), her daughter; Abel (Iván Pellicer), her son.

The strongest point of this series is the environment it creates, as you can feel things getting uneasier the more you watch, although there is so much background you might get lost if you lose focus!

Despite not being a show for everybody due to its violence and sexual content, I'd totally recommend it if you are a sucker for thrillers!

https://www.netflix.com/es/title/81435203

Heartbreak High (2022)

This series is no exception to anything a teenager would expect to see in a comedy-drama series. Heartbreak High describes the adventures of a group of students of Hartly High School and how they deal with issues such as love, sex, drugs, and heartbreaks.

The main character is Amerie (Ayesha Madon), although everyone in the cast holds a crucial role in the development of the plot.

Although the plot might not be as stirring as other series following a similar story, this show does an outstanding job of representing people from all social groups, including the LGBTQ+, autistic, and BIPOC communities.

So, if you are looking for something fresh, innovative, and entertaining to watch, this lovely show is the solution!

https://www.netflix.com/es/title/81342553

The Addams Family has been part of our popular culture for a couple of generations now and occasional spin-offs are always welcomed, especially when they're relatively well-done. This fresh-off-the-oven series tells the story of Wednesday Addams in her journey at Nevermore Academy, an institution she enrolls in after being expelled from other high schools due to misbehaviour. Once there, she struggles to fit in among the other students while at the same time, trying to keep under control her psychic abilities. In addition to this, the unfolding of some mysteries leads our protagonist to investigate them.

Though it has some tiny flaws when being compared to previous works, this show still captives audiences with its own creepy yet charming and unique characteristics.

https://www.netflix.com/es/title/81231974

This British series is adapted from a webcomic with the same name. Following its graphic novel’s success, the characters from Heartstopper became alive thanks to Kit Connor (as Nick Nelson), Joe Locke (as Charlie Spring), William Gao (as Tao Xu), and many more.

Although at first, it might seem that the show follows the typical coming of age story, it is especially significant due to what its protagonists represent and the light it shades to the struggles of coming out for the LGTBIQ+ community or the prejudice they face in their daily lives. Overall, I think it is still a very sweet, fun and enjoyable story and very worth giving it a try, maybe you will end up loving it!

https://www.netflix.com/es/title/81059939

This American romantic drama brings to the screen Nicholas Sparks’ novel.
This movie follows the story of John (Channing Tatum), a soldier who, while is on leave, falls in love with Savannah (Amanda Seyfried). For the next years, during the time that he is deployed to the war, they exchange love letters to keep in contact, but seeing each other for just small periods of time complicates things.
If you have liked The Notebook or The Lucky One, you are going to like Dear John. It is perfect for hopeless romantics and for those who enjoy a good drama and, if you cry easily and get emotional, I would have some tissues in hand.

https://www.netflix.com/es/title/70117302

Bojack Horseman (2014)

This is a dark-comedy cartoon series about the life of an anthropomorphic horse, Bojack Horseman, who is a former sitcom actor struggling with different problems like alcoholism or drug abuse.
The series reflects and analyses mental health problems and other familiar life struggles that do not have that much representation. It helps us understand all the human conducts through all the characters like Bojack or other main characters such as his ex-girlfriend Princess Carolyn or his friends Todd, Diane and Mr. Peanutbutter.
Bojack does atrocious things to many people that cross his path, but, wierdly, the show makes you empathize with him, yet it never supports or justifies his behavior.
Besides all the 'drama' there is also a lot of very good comedy and satire related to the world of Hollywood.
This show has a good mix of darker and lighter moments that will make you question and dissect lots of aspects of day-to-day life and people. So if you like this type of humor this is a must-watch!

https://www.netflix.com/es/title/70300800

This show is a historical drama about the reign of Queen Elisabeth II. It narrates her life from just before she became queen and it displays all the lessons she had to learn at such a young age to become queen of England.
It depicts the history of the royal family, most of the time in an objective way, sometimes not so much. In the first seasons we see a lot more progress and it is more dynamic than in the last two seasons, which is not necessarily a bad thing.
The decorations and costumes are great, very real to the time they try to recreate, and the cast is perfect for the role, as they have chosen people that are very similar to the ones they are interpreting.
If you like shows that illustrates real life historical moments, this is definitely the show for you.

https://www.netflix.com/es/title/80025678
