I can help you, the Liberdade Neighborhood is a good place to you go, there you can buy somethings of Japanese culture, tipical foods, clothes. 
If you like music, you can go to Galeria do Rock or Galeria do Reggae, there you can buy a lot of things, for exemple, clothes, sneakers, posters, CD's, and if you like tattoo, you can choose tattooers.
If you like doing sports, you can go to SESC Itaquera, there you can run, play soccer, basketball, volleyball, tennis, table tennis, or just enjoy the weather, the place. 
If you like art, I recommend you to go to MASP, there is have exposition of modern art, sometimes it's free, under of MASP have crafts market.
