Have you ever come to wonder how education would be if we never learned in person? The State of Education has developed over time, for some in a positive manner and for others in a negative way. In the year 2020, the world introduced us to and allowed us to experience a worldwide pandemic. No one was prepared for such an unexpected change in life, for many students, their form of learning changed for approximately 2 years when they were told that they would receive 2 weeks out of school. As we all know, the years 2020-2021 were challenging to get through but was possible through the effort that everyone put in. Students were forced to change the routine in which they attended school. They had to connect through a computer and complete all school related activities on a device, a completely distinct way then what they were used to. Online learning versus traditional learning demonstrates the hardships students faced for the better of their education and adapting to the way in which they learn.

Online learning had such a great impact on students by allowing them to continue learning from a distance and not fall back on getting their education. Online learning was a great way for students to attend class while also being in quarantine from the rest of the students and teachers to prevent spreading the virus. Despite the challenges some people faced while learning online, it helped get through a rough time in the pandemic.

We have only been doing school online for about a month and I am not doing so well in school as I typically would. I do not know how some people deal with the pain, but my heart just breaks, and I begin to sob uncontrollably. I visited my grandfather again but this time something felt different. It is as if I can presence that soon he will no longer be with me....

Taking online courses for many was a struggle due to the lack of wi-fi they had at home. Cafes, libraries, and other such places made it accessible for students to sit down, eat, join their online courses and do homework with comfort. Of course some restrictions were places such as keep a distance of at least 6 feet apart and wearing a face mask at all times. Since students could not attend face-to-face being in a café was very relaxing and stress free.

I really enjoyed doing this project as it was a great way to get my creative mind going and allow me to go into more research about how it is that we dealt with the pandemic and the effect that it had on us as students. I was one of those students who struggled with doing my courses online but I managed to try my hardest and completed all of my online classes eventually going to school again the following year. I found this project very fun as I had never done one like this before.

One of the many things that I found interesting while researching for this project was how much we made Covid-19 a huge thing as it was meant to be and we took many precautions and changed the way in which we learned and now it feels as if life is back to normal. This multi genre research project helped me identify myself with what I was researching because I do in fact feel as if I learn better in person. I was very content with the topic that I chose as I felt I related more to it the most.

Once Upon A Time,

A few years ago there was a day in the year 2019 that changed the world forever. This story takes us back to Wuhan City, Hubei Province, China (Shi et al., 2020). The state of China brought us a pandemic that effected people from infants to seniors beginning in the year 2020 and ending in the year 2023. This pandemic was caused by the virus, Covid-19 that meant everyone had to quarantine and students were forced to leave school. This break lead to the beginning of what is known now as online learning or online school. At the beginning of the break all of the students were so happy to have 2 weeks off of school but later found out it was more serious than it seemed. School would now be online, and little did they know that for most of them it would be hard. Doing school online had a negative impact on a vast majority of students as some would sleep during class, cheat, or not do any homework and be left without wi-fi while others did a lot better in school virtually than in person. All of those students witnessed the struggles of what it was like to live in a pandemic, be in complete isolation, and live differently than how they used to, leading them to miss how school was in person. After just a year and a half, life returned to normal and they were able to return to their old lives for the most part and learn in person like they once had. The End.
