God told Abraham that he would have more descendants than stars he could see in the sky! We made stars to symbolise God's promise to Abraham and the promises he makes to us.

God also said he would bless Abraham and his descendants so that all the families of the earth would be blessed.

Jesus borrows a fisherman called Simon Peter's boat, so he can teach a crowd of people who are standing on the shore. He then tells Simon Peter (who has been fishing all night with no luck) where in the lake to go fishing! Simon Peter catches so many fish, he has to call for help from his friends. Fishermen called James and John were with Simon Peter, to whom Jesus says '...from now on you will fish for people'.

We greeted each other, sang a song with actions, read this story from the Bible, and made a collage of boats and fish. We learned about the story from Jesus' life and how God provides.

Jesus tells a story of a son, who asks for his inheritance from his father, and wastes it in a foreign land, living recklessly. Famine strikes the land, and the son has nothing left. He is forced to work for a pig farmer and longs to eat the food he gives to the pigs; he is so hungry. He decides to return to his father and beg for forgiveness, not daring to be considered his son any more, but asking to be a servant in his father's household. However, as soon as his father sees him coming along the road from a distance, he runs to greet and hug him, and welcomes him home with celebrations!

We read the story and talked about mistakes, fairness, forgiveness and love. For our craft on Sunday we made pictures of a father's hug using cut-outs of our hands. The word we wrote was 'forgiveness'

Children are invited to play, during services, in a special area of the church, called the 'pray and play' space, which has been designed for their needs. It includes a little table with colourful stools, toys, paper, pencils and reading books etc. Parents sit nearby and keep a watchful eye on what's happening.

Although it's not always silent, this generally unfolds happily without creating any disturbance during services.

Our all-powerful creator God is making all things new ....

All the children were welcomed by name and we danced to music.

We sang a song about creation, with actions, and lit a candle, saying the Lord's prayer with actions. Then, we made the tree of hope in the picture.

At the end we shared the peace.

It needs no words and the artist has labelled the figure of Jesus.
