They're the key for unlocking quite a bit of power within the cyber world. Just like you wouldn't give your car or house keys to just anybody, don't give them access to your passwords either. You should use different passwords for each of the social media outlets you choose to use. These passwords should contain all sorts of goodies such as: capital letters, regular letters, numbers, and symbols if they're allowed.
(GIF located through google search tools in padlet)

While it's rewarding to watch the number of friends you're connected with online grow, do you really know each and every person who sends you a friend request?
Allowing strangers past the privacy settings and passwords you've established with Rules 1 & 2 would be defeating the purpose all together.
With that in mind, question how you know this person. Are they really a friend? Do you know them anywhere other than online?
(Image located through Google search tool on www.lifewire.com)

Try to be mindful of just how much information you're sharing online. Though now you have adjusted your privacy settings and made wise decisions about who should and shouldn't be your friends, there are still some things to consider before posting.
Tagging your location may seem like a great idea but remember how quickly your post can travel through the cyber world with a friend of yours comments or likes it. Unless you like the idea of someone being able to track your every move with GPS...perhaps tagging a location isn't the best choice.
(Image located through knowyourmeme.com)

This one is quite simple and has to do with not only your safety but the safety of others. It's become increasingly easy for you to reach others via the internet but remember that the security you feel while safely behind your keyboard doesn't give you permission to be disrespectful to others. Cyber-bullying has grown exponentially in recent years. Before posting that snide comment be sure that you THINK: Is it True? Is it Helpful? Is it Inspiring? Is it Necessary? Is it Kind?

(Image located on www.teachjunkie.com)
