This is probably the first time I have sit back and reflected about my recent life journey and the city around me. 
If I have to pick one word about my sharing today, it will be the word: CHANGE. 
When looking back at myself years ago, I realize that there have been so many changes in not just the way I perceive myself but also in how I embrace other things.

In the beginning, I follow Digital Marketing as my major at RMIT because I enjoy the combination of creativity and business practice in Digital Marketing courses. However, because of changes in my personal path, I decided to switch to Economics & Finance a year later. Despite my late change, I still find the knowledge I have learnt during my first year in Digital Marketing is valuable and worth my time. The moment I completed my major changing request was also when I realized that my decision to study at RMIT is correct. Different from my high school where mistake and change were criticized:

I allow myself to change my usual activities and experience more. One the ‘changed’ activities is taking part in a club named RMIT Golden Flames Competition Club. My club is about encouraging students join different competitions to gain more experience. The cool thing when joining competitions is that whenever you begin with a new competition, a combination of changes will follow you: changes in your usual teammates, changes in your daily schedule and even changes in your attitude toward difficulties.

Changes in my city occur in most of daily aspects, especially in the business life. Recently, Ho Chi Minh city has been crowded with tech start-ups; many of these are ‘tech unicorns’ which are used to describe fast-growing entrepreneurs. The existence of these growing tech start-ups has disrupted the business life of Ho Chi Minh City.

Before the penetration of the tech start-up, the traditional motorcycle riding service, normally called ‘Xe om’, was mostly relationship-based. This means that whenever a customer wanted to use ‘Xe om’ service, he/she had to look for the already known rider to assure the suitable price. The situation is similar in the rider side. The traditional ‘Xe om’ rider had to work full-time and spent a lot of time to wait for the acquainted customers. The existence of tech start-ups, such as Grab or GoJek, have totally change this market in Ho Chi Minh City. Now, technology motorcycle riding service has become a job for every people. Some people can still rely on this job as their full-time occupation whereas some can utilize this as their part-time job for additional earning. 
The relationship between the customers and the riders have also been changed in which the customers will have various choices with transparent price.

Since the first lock-down due to the Covid-19 in Vietnam one year ago, my daily practices have changed a lot. On the positive side, I tend to care more about my health and personal hygiene. Before the pandemic, I only do exercise during my semester break, but after the pandemic, I try to sustain the habit of exercising even in my busiest time.
