The airbag affects the motion of the driver by lengthening the amount of time it takes for the driver to hit the front of the driver's compartment. This airbag would not be able to save the driver from a sideways collision because the airbag is situated in front of the driver and not to the side, so it would be impossible for it to lengthen the time for the force from the crash to reach driver from the collision.

The airbag affects the motion of the driver in the car by stopping the driver. The driver would jolt forward in a car accident, and the airbag would stop the driver from jolting forward and getting extremely injured. I do not think this airbag would protect the driver from a sideways collision because, if hit from the side, there is no real crumple zone protecting the driver from the side. The airbag is in the wrong direction as well, so the impact would hit the driver directly, where as if it were a forward hit, there would be the crumple zones to protect the driver a little more than the side hit.

The air bag in the photo affects the motion of the driver in the car because it affects the direction of where the driver goes. If the air bag wasn't there, the driver would go forward and injure themselves due to the collision. Since the bag is there, the driver will go against the airbag and they will not go forward. The air bag impacts the driver if the collision is forward (not sideways). However, the air bag will not affect the driver if there was a sideways collision because the air bag is in front of the driver not the side of them. The air bag will not have an impact on the driver who goes sideways due to its position in the front.

Lets say it were to hit the side car the driver is most likely to survive.Though the airbag does not have an effect on the driver.
