There was an effect of huge ionization of the air, it was shining like a rainbow, but it wasn’t the bomb. We are stile alive! This event, "Chornobyl Heroes", is for all of us to be active to protect our environment. We should learn the lessons from this terrible disaster not to break the laws of nature. At the same time we must thank all those people who gave their lives to save our lives and homes. Chornobyl Disaster wasn't their fault but they sacrificed their lives being aware of their own terrible death. Those people were from different part of the USSR, of different nationalities. Let's observe the moment of silence in commemoration of the dead. From 1986 to 1990, around 800,000 people, including 3,000 Armenians, were part of clean-up operations following after the nuclear accident in Chernobyl. Some were taken there by force; others had fallen prey to trickery or secrecy. All of them returned from Chernobyl with disabilities, suffering from a wide range of physical or mental disorders. 1,500 of the 3,000 Armenians received disability status for life, while 400 of them, mainly children, have died.
