Starr sees her old friend Khalil at the party and spends time with him until they both hear gunshots and run out of the house and into Khalils car. During the ride they discuss Khalils family until they get stopped by flashing blue lights and a police siren.
Chapter 2-  In chapter 2 Khalil is stopped by a police officer that is later identified as one fifteen. The officer mistakes khalils hairbrush as a weapon and shoots him because of the "threat."Starr flashes back to when she was 10 years old and watched her friend Natasha die in front of her.
