The huge indicators for stage 2 countries are that IMR and CDR declined, we can see with Yemen that it declined -0.580%, from 2021 to the number I present there, 41,998 per 1000 births. The TFR for this country was still relatively high; due to things like lack of education for women, family planning, and use of children for agricultural labor. This was also the case for countries like Uganda and Sudan, which also had a rapid growth due to higher birth rates and a declining child death rate. Uganda's birth rate grew 0.6% and death rates decreased by -1.980%, just like Sudan.

These three countries are in stage 3, as for example, India in 2022 had 17.163 births per 1000 people, while now in 2023, has 16.949. Though it is not close to the death rate, it is slowly getting there as it is less than double of it. In Jamaica it fell gradually, from 11.5 in 2022 to 7.6, a great example of a CBR dropping due to more access to family planning, delayed age of marriage, more educational opportunities for women, and a higher GDP per capita. Finally, this is the same case for Botswana, as in 2022 their CBR was 23.036 and now is 22.8.

In most of these examples, the CBR should be lower than the CDR and the growth for all of them should also be negative. We first have a confusing example, Canada, for which its CBR is still higher than the CDR, but it is declining steadily, so somewhere in the next 5 to 10 years it will be below the CDR, surely the same will be with Brazil as well. Then we have China, in which due to things like various policies they had to follow, are in a somewhat controlled stage. Their CBR and CDR only differentiate by 0.4, so they are almost interchanging and falling below each other, meaning it will be a prime example of a stage 4 very soon. All of these countries have a longer life expectancy than stage 2 or 3 countries. Here, these are qualified as stage 4 because of increased wealth and education in the population, contraception use and higher per capita GDP.
