We partner with high school students in need of mandatory 'community service hours' who volunteer along with adults to rake ,clean up yards for the older members of our community. The Handy Neighbor program happens in Spring and Fall.

Asking,inviting , people one- on- one, to help out in our efforts of supporting the older folks in our community. First learn about potential volunteer's interests and motivations and go from there in conversations and then invite.

There are a couple of designated volunteer call coordinators for our free rides program called Neighbor 2 Neighbor. The call coordinators are the main leaders and motivators. Our AFCI hosts a luncheon to honor the volunteer coordinators and drivers and also use that time for conversations about progress and to receive feedback.

There are several local organizations with a strong volunteer involvement. I believe most of it is from word of mouth. I have advertised in the local paper and have a united way profile.
