Congratulations on finally escaping the clutches of silabas and Kinestemas! 🎉 The world of retirement is about to gain a legend, and I couldn't be happier for you.

You've spent years turning struggling readers into bookworms, and now it's time to turn the pages of your own adventure. I can already picture you with a stack of novels as high as your to-do list was on any given Monday. But fear not; your most significant decision is to read them in your hammock while on a cruise or the beach. Just promise me you won't start correcting the grammar in your mystery novels—those plot twists are meant to be enjoyed, not edited!

Wishing you all the laughter, relaxation, and endless cups of coffee you can handle. Retirement looks good on you, and I can't wait to hear all about your new adventures. Just don't forget us little people still stuck in the trenches of literacy!

Thank you for all the years of dedicated service to our children, colleagues, and school. You have made such a difference in ways big and small! You have taught so many children so many things - to read their first word, to have a love for literacy, to have excitement for who they are and growing their skills.

Even bigger than your impact with children has been your impact on adults. From the parents you have counseled about practicing reading at home, who you have reassured when then have worried for their children, and even those who have never had a direct conference with you but could rely on the consist support you provided through books home and notes about their child's progress, you have made a difference.

With our teachers, your impact will endure. From the new to profession teacher that is not sure of the first right move to the experienced teacher that needs a thought partner, and everything in between, you have made a difference! Because of the seeds you have planted, there are children who have yet to be born that will benefit from what you have taught their teachers.

Even for the many principals and program supervisors, you have made a difference! Your wisdom and calm counsel have been invaluable to me. Your steadiness and giving heart has given me a model to follow. Your impact will endure for many, many years! I am so blessed and grateful that we have had this time together.

Enjoy every moment of your retirement, it is well deserved!

Te deseo lo mejor en este nuevo capítulo que comienza. Gracias por todo lo que me enseñaste en este tiempo que compartimos juntas. Gracias por enseñarme lo que es una excelente maestra de lectura y aunque me falta muchísimo para llegar a ser la mitad de lo que tú eres, voy a seguir tratando de servir a mis chicos con el mismo amor y dedicación que siempre vi en tus lecciones. Te dejo con un "hasta siempre" porque espero que fuera de estas paredes, podamos seguir viéndonos de vez en cuando, para que me cuentes de como está esa vida "allá afuera".

I have such mixed emotions about your retirement. Mostly, I am just over-the-moon thrilled for you! You have had an incredible career, impacting the lives of hundreds of children, parents, and teachers. Your passion and dedication are admirable, and how wonderful to know that the seeds you have planted will continue to flourish for years to come! You can cruise into retirement confidently knowing you have made a world of difference!

So, I hold joy (for you) in one hand and some bittersweetness (for myself) in the other. These last two years of Wednesday morning devotionals with you have been so very special. I will always treasure the time we had, but I will also deeply miss your presence in our group. Thank you for your loving heart, hunger for God's Word, and for modeling a life of grace and faith.

Your dedication to our students, your passion for teaching, and your incredible kindness have not only helped me grow as an educator but have also created a classroom environment where both the students and I have thrived. You’ve been more than a co-teacher—you’ve been a mentor and a friend, and I can’t thank you enough for that.

As you head into this next chapter of retirement, please know how much you will be missed. I selfishly wish you could stay forever, but I am so happy for you and excited for all the adventures ahead. You absolutely deserve it!

We have both been at Knowles for many years together. I had the pleasure of teaching your kids for a few years in the beginning, and then it wasn’t until the last couple of years that we had bus duty together that I really got to know you. On days where I really didn’t want to be there or was in a grumpy morning funk, I looked forward to seeing you, and to catching up on what was happening in our lives. You were always so positive!
