As I was walking downtown I saw a little sparrow and it had something in its mouth. It landed on a tree branch and hopped off into the wind going to a presumable nest. It's hard to imagine where the bird was going but it reminded me that no matter how small nature appears to be it surrounds us.

When I was downtown I got Rocky Road Ice cream. It was locally acquired from pastured cows. I can see the cows in a big yard with yards upon yards of green grass to graze on. It helps me bring me back to when I lived on the front range and I lived cows surrounding my little town

So many people call Golden home. The people who inhabit this campus to the older folk who found a small town with many resources. As I sit in Brown Hall I see all the college kids pass by the huge windows gossipping to their friends, the old couple with a German Shepard, to runners and bikers. We all call Golden home but we utilize it in our own ways. At the end of the day, we are all here because we love this town we call home.

As I walked past the Sororities I think about that single rock that I brought from Salida Colorado and placed at the very top right of our makeshift M. I think about how wildly different my college experience has been compared to other years but I can still appreciate the idea that I brought a rock from my home to my new home and how that single rock represents all my change and growth as a person.
