Friction is a big part on the game of Hockey, the Ice has virtually no friction unless you have a bigger object in use of skates, if you have grip on the ice, you can stop easily, however skates have no grip because of the amount of mass on the ice.

In hockey, it's all about being able to skate. While if you are able to skate well and have good eye contact, there is always room for improvement. You can use a tennis ball and catch it with one hand. Or play games with teammates.
