This position will assist with Student Conduct case management including serving as a hearing officer, develop and deliver presentations and programs on Student Conduct topics, create educational content for the SRU Student Conduct social media presence, and work on other special projects for the Dean of Students team.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Learning outcomes of the position</strong></p><ul><li><p>Help students recognize their sense of accountability to themselves and others and how their behavior impacts the larger campus learning community.</p></li><li><p>Educate students on legal and policy topics related to Student Conduct such as alcohol, drugs, academic misconduct, and First Amendment.</p></li><li><p>Develop administrative skills on program development, case management, and personal accountability.</p></li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Potential cross training or learning that could occur in this role</strong></p><p>Student Conduct is part of the Personal, Social, and Behavioral Accountability team within the Dean of Students Office, which also includes Accountability and Conflict Programming, Disability Services, Student Support, and Title IX. Many former grad students were able to apply the skills learned in this role to their own lives, building a stronger sense of career readiness.</p><p>This role also encourages exploration of cross-related projects that interest the Graduate Assistant, meaning if they have an interest and can connect it to Career Education and Development’s mission and vision, then they will receive support in developing their own project.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Description of the personality of the office and the type of person best suited for this role</strong></p><p>Due to the busy nature of this office, Graduate Assistants must quickly adapt to a position with professional demands and responsibilities for multiple concurrent duties. Graduate Assistants must possess excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills, as well as a willingness to take on challenges with a learning perspective.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>This office is very collaborative, with an added benefit of resources coming from other Graduate Assistants, Peer Career Coaches, and full-time staff.
