I learned that Paul Ekman went to a group of people that has never seen the world outside of their group and Ekman showed them pictures to see if they knew the emotion the person was feeling. He was surprised that they did know some of them. I learned Ekman came up with six basic emotions, fear, anger, surprise, disgust, sadness, and happiness.
