You can read financials; but you really need to talk to the org to learn the details behind them. Don't judge up front!

The financial vetting was a helpful, but it would be great to add in other aspects of vetting organizations/projects - program contacts, proposal reviews, project budgets, website reviews. Site visits were mentioned a fair bit but for those who don't do visits, sharing other aspects of vetting an organization would be helpful, and interesting to see how others do this.

I would like to know how many people use Candid to learn about an organization's financial health. It seems like it would be a good way to ask less of our nonprofit partners if we can do some research on our side. I would also like to discuss more about what exactly we can get from Candid and where that information comes from. I believe most of it comes from the financials and 990 but how much of it comes from information provided by the organization directly? I also noticed more of a snapshot there of the important financial information rather than a lot of numbers to review, although the details were available, too. I couldn't find trends in detail (probably just looking in the wrong place), but I was able to get a feel for their more current financial health. Other feedback, maybe something a bit simpler and clearer for those of us who are new to financial review.
