      <description>Caitlin Franco serves as Executive Director of Equality Charter School, a middle school and high school in the Bronx, New York. Since founding the school in 2009, Caitlin Franco has turned the school into a leading New York middle school, where it is consistently ranked in the top three percent of the city&#39;s schools. Drawing on over a decade of teaching experience, Caitlin Franco has built an inclusive learning environment and utilized data-driven teaching strategies proven to produce exemplary academic achievement in its students. 

Prior to her current position, Ms. Franco served as an English and elective teacher at the Bronx Leadership Academy II. She previously taught at the Opportunity Charter School in New York, Tobin Elementary School in Boston, Massachusetts, and as a student teacher and leave replacement at the Smithtown Central School District. 

Caitlin began her post-secondary education at Stony Brook University, where she earned a BA in English Education and distinguished herself academically. Making the dean’s list every semester, she earned a scholarship to attend a year-long program at the University of Westminster in London, England, where she studied English Literature. Returning to the United States, she earned admission to Harvard University where she earned an M.ED in Educational Leadership.</description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Caitlin Franco co-founded Equality Charter School in 2009 and continues to oversee the education of middle and high school students as the Bronx, New York-based institution’s Executive Director. Under Caitlin Franco’s leadership, <a href="http://www.equalitycharterschool.org/our-programs/our-approach/">Equality Charter School </a>offers college and career exploration through a comprehensive Career Planning program.&nbsp;<br><br>The Career Planning program employs a dedicated staff that guides adolescents into adulthood through a multifaceted approach that begins in middle school. Guidance counselors lead students in examining various career pathways, including how to pursue a meaningful postsecondary education.<br><br>Postsecondary education support also includes a work experience program, college-credit bearing options, and SAT preparation classes. To help students succeed during their postsecondary education, Career Planning offers an in-school tutoring program that provides peer-to-peer tutoring.&nbsp;<br><br>Students are encouraged to explore their interests and plan for their futures through two career planning courses: one at the middle school level and another at the high school level. The middle school-level Life and Literacy class promotes exploration of professional interests and helps students create goals for high school. At the high school level, students take the Career and Literacy course and engage with career center resources to develop their professional goals.</div>]]></description>
