My design is going to be a less painful hypodermic needle from porcupine quills.  I will make these needles to help people that have hardships using needles to inject or extract substances from their body. These needles will be created after studying the effects of porcupine needles being in human skin. I will have to monitor what happens when porcupine quills are put into skin. I will need to measure how much force it takes to pierce flesh and how much force was required to remove the quill from flesh. I will need to test the quills against an 18-inch hypodermic needle. Once these tests have been conducted this information can be used to construct a less painful hypodermic needle.

I will compare a hypodermic needle to the original porcupine quill to see the effects that take place when when injecting it into the skin. I will then test the effects of a larger quill to the hypodermic needle. The third prototype tested will be a sharper quill to the hypodermic needle. This adaptation will show which quill produces the best results when being compared to a hypodermic needle.
