The policy, which included acts such as financial aid to Greece and Turkey, aimed to contain the USSR's influence and stop the spread of communism. It's aim was to give economic assistance to European nations that suffered from the impacts of WWII. Similarly to the Truman Doctrine, it helped stop the spread of communism.</div>]]></description>
