One aspect of culture that is changing in Senegal is the girls rights to go to school. Girls used to stay home and do work around the house but now some girls go to school. However, Binta’s cousin, Soda, still doesn’t go to school.

2- What is Binta’s idea?

Binta’s idea is to adopt a toubab- a person who is either American or European.

3- Why is Binta’s idea great?

Binta’s idea is great because if they adopt a toubab and the toubab comes, they will get the good things that happen in Senegal, and combine them with the good things that happen in America and Europe. Therefore, with the toubab there, they can make Senegal an even better place because there will be more of the good things that they want but don’t. One aspect of culture that is changing in Senegal is that girls are starting to got to school more. When Soda’s mother was a girl she didn’t go to school, she was expected to marry and have children, and because of that she was duped by a man buying her fruit. Soda’s mother realizes that her life would have been very different if she had gone to school and wants Soda to, she tries to convince her husband, but only after the children but on a play does he agree.

Binat’s idea is a great one because her idea will teach the tubob child what life is like in Senegal, and how the west can learn from Senegal’s culture.

3-why is bintas idea a great one?
 Bintas idea is a great one because when/if the tubab child gets adopted he or she will be coming from a place they’ve called home. But now they are moving to a complete new place. To him/her it will feel very different in this new place, for example the culture will be very different . But over time I think the two cultures will get to know eachother better and learn lots of thing to. That’s why I think bintas idea is great

Some aspect of Senegalese culture is that not all girls have to stay home and work now they have the chance to go to school. But females  are also starting to be able to do more things that males can and are allowed to do.

Binta’s idea was such a good idea because this way people from the wealthier countries can learn how they have to work for more thing that the county they came from just had, and that they don’t have most of the fancy techniques and technology that would help them get more food for example. 1. The aspect of culture that is changing in Senegal is that girls no longer have to stay home and do work, they are allowed to go to school with the boys. 

2. Binta had the great idea to adopt a toubab child from either America or Europe. 

3. Binta’s idea was so great because different cultures get to learn about other cultures. Also the two cultures can work together to combine both lifestyles, from Senegal and America/Europe. Everyone could share ideas and what they think of life, as well as how a normal day would be like.
