But the formative assessment tool was the ongoing questions through all the stages of the session. It works better when it's shown on an attractive slide show presentation accompanied with pics or videos.

But the responses from parents are low as they are more focused on helping their other children in school. Assessment for the children are made harder due to this. Although some children participated in it, but the assessment method for children in preschool are different from the children in schools. 
The problem arises when we get their finished work through photos but most of the work done isn’t their own. The video call are rejected as some couldn’t use their other phone as their other child in school are using in, the parents are absorbed in work with their video conferences and many more situation that contributes on this.

I also use google docs for assessing the children but only 1/4 children participate in the online assessment

The pictures taken, voice messages and videos through whatsapp or video call done are one of the  method to assess the children.

It is very hard to keep it as, in my case, I have 350 students amd I don't remember all their performances, esp. when parents do the activities. The students can answer and get feedback , they can also get certificates which is very encouraging.

One of the tools I use for formative assessment is Forums. Usually, there are 2 stages. First, Ss are supposed to record a one to two-minute presentation about a given topic for example HOW TO USE A,,, (*depending on the level it could be up to 3 minutes). They're given a week to post their video or web link in their platform. The second part consists of watching 2 presentations and writing a comment to these 2 students. My platform (Blackboard) allows me to embed the rubrics so that my learners know what they will be assessed on. Moreover, when I have to grade their work the rubrics are available for me to tick and get their final grade. It contains the quizzes, assessments and final exams for my students. Their marks are also displayed on blackboard when the marking is done.
