For example, there is a unit that refers to fast fashion. Most teens are interested in their clothes so this would give me the chance to take thei interest a step further and talk about the consequences of cheap clothing. Teens from different countries could compare and contrast the existence of such a problem in their countries and maybe have a debate on this topic. However, the main problem with courses in senior high school is of course covering the curriculum before the state exams as doing projects are quite time consuming. Cultural awareness provides many aspects that could be explored and foster the appreciation of diversity. The use of foreign language combined with ICT should provide a trampoline for carrying out tasks. Young learners should be stimulated to create artefacts in hands-on activities as a means to communicate their ideas, especially if they can't master L2 that well.
