Hi all, I am an experienced Bioinformatics analyst (mainly genomics and transcriptomics) based at the Sheffield Bioinformatics Core. .I also have a track-record of delivering Bioinformatics and data analysis training for large workshops and on a 1:1 basis.

I don't have the capacity to be a primary supervisor, but if you have a proposal that would be enhanced by having a Bioinformatician on the team please do get in touch

m.j.dunning@sheffield.ac.uk

Production of novel neuro peptides from lncRNAs

Hi there,
Im Julie Aspden (Associate Prof, U o Leeds) with background in mRNA translation and cytoplasmic lncRNAs. We are using ribosome profiling (Ribo-Seq) to discover novel micro-peptides translated from lncRNA expressed during cortical organoid development (in collaboration with James Poulter, U o Leeds). I'm looking for a potential co-supervisor with interest in understanding function of neuro-peptides or cancers of the nervous system? or other relevant expertise to dissect the potential neuronal function of these novel peptides and their link with disease. Please drop me an email if you are interested, or if you are looking for mRNA translation, cytoplasmic lncRNA or Ribo-Seq collaborator for your project (j.aspden@leeds.ac.uk).

I'm Andrew Tuplin - PI at University of Leeds. We use a range of molecular, cellular and structural approaches to look at host virus interactions and how they influence control of virus genome replication/translation and manipulation of the host cell innate immune response. Most of our work is focused on positive RNA viruses (such as Chikungunya virus and Zika virus) and interactions/modifications of the virus genome itself - for example using in cell SHAPE to map functional RNA structures and their interactions or association with chemical modifications. I'm looking for a collaborator with expertise arthritis, arthralgia or neuropathic pain to investigate its association with persistent Chikungunya virus infection. Drop me an email if you're interested or if you're looking for an RNA structure collaborator. My e.mail is a.k.tuplin@leeds.ac.uk

Hi I am based in Newcastle and work on mitochondrial pathology in muscle. We are due to recieve muscle samples from PINK1 and Parkin KO mice who have been either exercised or sedentary to perform 3D EM analysis and I'd be keen to develope a collaboration with anyone who thinks they might be able to contribute expertise to such a project. Happy to chat further: amy.vincent@ncl.ac.uk
