"So maybe we can work toward customizing the amount of synchronous instruction for every student, allowing some to work independently or through digital channels more often, while others who need more interaction can get it?"
Something I want to try is creating two versions of my assignment. One is for beginner learners and the other is intermediate and advanced. This way students can develop their skills according to their strengths and understanding. For example, this might look like providing lower level students with a matching activity and higher level students with the opportunity to synthesize or create. I hope this will support student progress.

I loved the "morning check-in" idea that Bridges is implementing and today's "shout outs" as a way to build community. Something I would like to try is doing this school-wide as staff more regularly, as well as with students (i.e.: FIHS Morning Check-ins...this is Juliana's idea that she has shared with us since they did this at her old school). Maybe we begin with small actions at team level and at Staff PD and build towards something more school-wide. I think we need to build community amongst ourselves just like we need to do it with our students during these times.
