1. Wear tops that won't show nervous sweat stains.
2. Wear shoes that you are truly comfy in (for some folks, that is heels, for others, it's clogs). 
3. Good rule for figuring out when to tell a staff member something awkward- TP on shoe, stain on pants, etc:   If you'd want to know, then they also want to know! It can be hard when you're new, but saving someone from public embarrassment is a true kindness.
Good luck... and whatever you can do to take the job seriously without taking yourself too seriously will help.

B) This group of people is always willing to help.  With anything.  School or not.  Ask away, you'll get some great answers, advice, or whatever you need.
C) It's OK to say "no" sometimes, but try to lean towards "yes," you'll be glad you did.  
D) Don't be afraid of failure.  Try new things, have fun, get out of your comfort zone.  That's how you'll grow and people will want to learn from what YOU did.  :)

So many people have already offered great advice, but some of them are worth reiterating:
1) Be your genuine self and try to relax this year. There are many things that are out of your immediate control--try to let them go as best as you can.
2) Get to know people in your building--ask for help, learn new things, and get advice! Figure out who your tech guru is for your building--they are always a great resource and super helpful. 
3) Accept that the kids at the high school will ALWAYS thank you at the end of class, regardless of what you did that day. Welcome to Medfield!
4) Make sure you have enough "me time" this year! It's always okay to step away and take a breath if needed.
5) Support the kids outside of the classroom (whatever that means this year)--there is nothing they love more than to see you supporting them at games, performances, etc.

My advice to you is this...before you leave your classroom each day (no later than 1 hour after dismissal) make sure your desk is organized and you are ready for the following day. It is a great feeling walking into your classroom in the morning when it is clean and ready. Also, this year is a learning year for all of us. Don't hesitate to reach out to your colleagues. We are all learning new best practices together. We are stronger together.

Reach out to admin for help with grants, pilot initiatives, questions, support. 
Always continue to learn - read, professional development, professional learning community.
Breathe. You’ll be okay. The first year is the hardest, but you can do this!
