Feudalism Begins (1066)

The system was a matter of ex changing land for work or protection. Under the feudalism system land was granted to people for service. It started at the top with the king granting his land to a baron for soldiers and military help, all the way down to peasants receiving land to grow crops. The center of life in the Middle Ages was the manor. Which was run by local lord. Ultimately it all started after Rome split into east and west. The isolation that occurred in the west led to the rise. This is important because feudalism helped protect communities from violence and warfare after the fall. Feudalism secured western Europes society.
