Aristophanes: Love is the pursuit of wholeness. Plato would probably agree with idea that finding your perfect partner can help you ascend to divinity (the gods, which are 1 rung below the Forms).
W. Hamilton says: This speech is one of Plato's most brilliant literary acheivements.
