Narrative text is a kind of text to retell the imaginative or factual story that past tense. 

Social function of narrative text is to entertain the readers, to amuse the readers, to teach moral value, and to change social opinion.

There are 11 kinds of narrative text, such as folk tale, fairy tales, love story, legend, myth, science fiction, horror stories, fable, history, slice of life, and personal experience.

For the generic structure, there are 3 parts in narrative text, they are :
- orientation
- complication
- resolution
- evaluation, coda, re-orientation (optional)

Then, the language features of narrative text are 
- use adverb of time
- specific character (not general)
- use direct speech
- use of adjectives
- use of time connectives and conjunctions
