         <description><![CDATA[<p>Memory is the cognitive process of encoding, storing, and retrieving information. It involves various types, including short-term memory, which temporarily holds information for immediate use; long-term memory, which retains information over extended periods; and sensory memory, which briefly captures sensory experiences. Long-term memory divides into declarative (episodic and semantic) and nondeclarative (procedural, classical conditioning, perceptual representation systems). The hippocampus, cerebral cortex, and amygdala are key brain structures involved in memory formation and recall. A critical mechanism in this process is long-term potentiation (LTP), where synaptic connections between neurons are strengthened, enhancing signal transmission. Memory is essential for learning, decision-making, and daily functioning, enabling individuals to retain and use past experiences and knowledge.</p>]]></description>
