When I saw the video on digital literacy, it resonated with me because I also introduced skills like video-editing to my Infocomm CCA students. I also taught video-editing to my P4 Malay students to encourage them to apply the use of Malay Language through a fun and engaging activity, i.e., a vlog.

Thanks to initiative of Deanna, show choir have a platform for students to do submit their reflection on the padlet. We also use this platform for the show choir instructors to put up the YouTube videos for students to warm up and practise at home.

We have provided platforms for students to explore authentic problem solving with the use of micro-controllers through the Infocom Club and through platforms like the Pei Hwa Hackathon.

Something that the department is doing well that resonates with me is the home-school partnership (e.g Tinkering Thursdays) and more recent external partnership with ETD. The two videos we watched just now are quite condensed and I'm sure the students are being supported in many ways.

What resonates with me is the fact that there are so much of learning out there for both teachers as well as the students. Hands- on engaging activities with real-world learning experiences definitely encourage students to think critically, solve problems and innovate. Through the ALP, students explore areas such as coding, design thinking, media production, robotics, and digital storytelling or song writing or presentation. These experiences are not only engaging but also empower students to be creators of technology, not just consumers.

Instead of just memorising facts, our students are encouraged to think deeply, ask questions, and come up with solutions to real-life issues when designing their protocol which is important as these are problem thinking and critical thinking skills.

Watching the MT Rap video from Riverside made me realise that connecting digital literacy to specific subjects can increase relevance and motivation for students. It also sparked the idea that we could encourage more cross-department collaboration, so components like ALP don’t stand alone. This could help reinforce overlapping concepts/ ideas and make learning more meaningful and relatable for students.

I think making learning connected to real life makes it more interesting. Project-based learning helps students develop critical thinking, creativity, and problem-solving skills.

ICT - Riverside Sec

This is a very interesting programme to instill interest in learning MTL. Likewise, our FGPS teachers are using various E-ped & Ed Tech tools to teach and arouse interest in the students' learning. Eg- tools learnt from EdTech bites.

ALP- BLPS

The ALP carried in this school is very interesting. I feel they have a conducive makerspace and interesting tools to build or to create the various prototype.

In FGPS, we are privileged to have Tinkering Thursdays programme. This is a very exciting platform for students create and be creative. Moving forward we can leverage or build on this programme to be benefit the students more.

The use of ICT to encourage creativity and collaboration among learners resonates with our department’s efforts to integrate digital tools. While we use ICT for delivering content, we could better leverage these platforms to support student-driven creation like digital storytelling, collaborative projects or multimedia presentations. By shifting from consumption to creation, we can make learning more engaging and help students develop 21st-century skills.

I was happy that I could go to the classes to support the teachers. If the students could not even login to the computer, they could not proceed with the term 1 check in and other SLS lessons. So, it was good that we are there and could immediately reset their passwords or enable their accounts.

To include movement activities for the P1 and P2. To include other topics that are more meaningful to other levels; such as social media and friendship for P5 and P6.

ICT is a dynamic and fast-evolving area, and being part of the committee has provided valuable opportunities to learn about new tools and initiatives. The guidance, support and opportunities for collaboration have helped me build my confidence and knowledge. From my point of view, the TWMF results show that we’re doing well as a department. What I appreciate most is how the process gives us space to grow together, share our experiences, and learn from one another. For me, that sense of collaboration is just as meaningful as the results themselves—it makes our work feel more connected and purposeful.
