Athlete's Point Of View

Sports and Academics are two total different subjects. Academics is in it's world and sports are in its world as well. If sports were supposed to be with academics than the sports community would not be near as popular as it is today. Some athletes that play in the NCAA are looking to make playing sports their job and they want it to be their lives. You could say that some of these athletes are majoring in sports because they are so serious about making sports their primary and only job. If they only want to be in sports then why should they have to be worried about anything else. Athletes are just like any other college student. They are trying to set their lives up for the future so why should they have to worry about anything else.

College athletes do not get paid, they are not professionals. If you let college athletes only focus on sports then you are already treating them like professionals except they are not getting paid to play. If you get rid of academics then soon they will complain about not getting paid since they are treated like professionals. If you take away there chances for learning then what is going to happen to the uneducated athletes that don't make it to be a professional. They will have no college education and they will be out in the world looking for a job, and there are not many well paying jobs that let you have no college education. Also, the people that will have a career ending injury will be in the real world with no education. This is putting these athletes in positions of failures potentially.
