The Brown vs. Board of education was decided by the supreme court of why separating children in public schools by race wasn't right.
The main argument between them was that segregation violated the fourteenth amendment. The amendment said "addresses many aspects of citizenship and the rights of citizens". That means to respect all citizens.

Transportation back then was bad. I would rather for you to just walk to your destination. If you rode the bus, it was hard because when you get a seat that's not in the back, you will have to move to the back of the bus or you would be asked to get off. Claudette Colvin solved that issue.

Transportation now is much better you can get on the bus and sit wherever you would like and not be asked to move elsewhere or get off. Now you have a choice if you would like to walk or ride the bus.

Little rock nine was when nine teenagers walked out of their own home just to fight their own civil rights . They made their way to the front door and were stopped by the national guard just like in " First Day Of School " when the national guards had got called out . They played a huge roll in the civil rights just like the siblings from first day of school played a huge roll. The reason why they played a huge roll was because there was nine black students who fought for their civil rights .

Why this happened .

The reason for all of this was because of schools but we are missing a big part because all of this happened because of Plessy v Ferguson court case, during his court case it was all about separate but equal which means that we had to be separated but equally. He also played a huge role in this. This happened between race and your religion. It mostly went though schools because of how many people go to schools so during school time they would separate us because of our color. They would also sepearate the water fountains.

How does segregation relate to the First Day Of School ?

In the book First Day Of School it relates to segregation because in the story the siblings were colored and then they had to go to a white school. Also when they went to school they had to walk with adults so I assume that they were scared.
