The others include an exposition, which explains and analyzes an idea or set of ideas; an argument, which attempts to persuade the reader to a particular point of view; and a description, a written form of a visual experience.
-A narrative is a form of writing that tells a story.
-Narratives can be essays, fairy tales, movies, and jokes.
-Narratives have five elements: plot, setting, character, conflict, and theme.
-Writers use narrator style, chronological order, a point of view, and other strategies to tell a story

They begin with an intruduction, often called:

1 . Orientation : The orientation serves a very important purpose in a narrative. It introduces the reader to the characters in the story and the settings.
The setting is the where and the when of the story.

After the orientation comes the :

2. Complication : Wich is sometimes referred to ass the complication.
Is the most exciting part of the narrative. It's where something goes wrong for our main characters.

And finally the:

3. Solution : This is where the writer solves the problem or the problems... hopefully.
