I used to think that integrity mostly meant intact, and also a bit of a synonym with dignity.
What I now think:
I think it is a word that means to be honest about your intentions, to be truthful with your words, to clear up misunderstandings, and to always hold yourself to your own moral code.
What I think it means to other people:
I feel like, however, that we are using it as a replacement for the word dignity, as it has been used to mean everything good, without anything bad, .  'Focusing on your hopes and dreams, instead of your fears,' as one group had presented, is not being an integral person, that's just having confidence. I feel like the definition has changed from the little I've seen it used as a descriptor of one's ethical code. What i now think
I now know that Integrity is a struggle to have. That you need to always be trying your best to keep Integrity in your mind at all times. I used to think that integrity was always doing the right things and having good morals. I also used to think that morality was helping people a lot and treating people the way you wish you were treated.

I NOW THINK
Moralities and rectitude are the act of doing something as it was intended, always being nice and helping people, and never doing anything for a reward. Integrity is also doing a great job to the best of your abilities and helping people as much as you can and being a good person in genenal.

Integrity was just a word that meant to be generally intact. I had also heard teachers use it when it came to academic dishonesty, but it felt very surface level. 
I NOW THINK:
Integrity means to uphold your own values. It is a very subjective word, people can have very different morals and still meet the criteria of "integrity". Most people will use it as a word to be kind, honest, and most importantly, to be true to yourself. A common idea is to do the right thing when no one is watching, and I think that fits the definition of integrity perfectly. For example, cheating on a test is not good integrity. Even if no one finds out, you'll still have to live with knowing that you cheated. Or another example would be paying for one newspaper and taking two. If someone finds out out, how are they supposed to trust you when you can't be honest in the most simple of tasks? One other idea about integrity is that it is not just about you, it is about the people you hang out with or talk to. They're values reflect onto the image of you. If they do dumb stuff and people know that they are friends with you, then people might think poorly of you.

My idea on integrity has expanded on my initial thought. It's not just being honest to others, it's also being honest to yourself, willing to accept negative consequences, but also accepting hate for doing the right thing. NOW I THINK: As I read the article you assigned yesterday, I noticed that the whole thing was completely biased. The author of the article was telling me to follow their morals and having integrity means NOT following other people. Now I think that having integrity is doing what you believe to be right and what will not harm anyone else. Now, instead of seeing it as doing what is decided "right", I see it as having confidence in yourself and being able to make complicated decisions for yourself and not following everything that other people do.
