During the late nineteenth early twentieth centuries people of color, mainly African Americans, were victims of mass lynchings, riots, murders, racial discrimination, plus other hate crimes. Driven by hatred, jealousy, prejudice, racism, jingoism, and xenophobia, this is a pure example of genocide amongst colored people caused by whites. They weren't punished nor faced any consequences to their actions-- which did have a heavy impact on the colored community and caused them to become oppressed for generations and generations. This genocide lasted throughout the entire twentieth century and carried on to the twenty-first century-- but more discreetly. Below is a picture of Emmitt Till, who was beat to death and shot in the head by 2 white men. The men were tried and acquitted by an ALL-WHITE MALE jury. Now you tell me this isn't considered genocide.

During the roaring 20s the lynching of the African American was at full effect and with little to be done to prevent it. You could have been in government custody and still be snatched up by the White Americans and take to your execution. So to say the what was happening to the African American at the time can be considered a genocide. Though in History probably not the worst, but a very recent one and sort of unreal if you consider what nation this is coming from, which is a nation of Democracy and freedom, yet blatant disregard of the African American citizen’s safety for many years.
