The experts tell the story,
Tristan voice-overed clips of the characters re-enacting using social media. Johnathan voiced over re-enactment clips and graphs showing statistics. 

Scripted dialogue? Who wrote the lines, i.e., who was really speaking?
The family's dialogue is scripted because they want to show what it is like for a normal family to show how they are getting addicted to the technology.

There were characters playing a family where the kids are addicted to their phone, there was also the AI.

Filming people who are speaking about events with questions asked by filmmaker. It's important for character introduction. The subject should be framed using negative space and leave room behind the subject (4-15 feet between them and the wall). The background can influence the way the subject is perceived by the audience. For example,  the emotional reaction he wants from the audience is awe as he shows how climate change can affect the coral and ice.
