3) I think it’s quite hard to get the plot because of the long and detailed paragraphs of descriptions. And the vocabularies are hard to understand. Chastisement: severe criticism

It is a good story indeed. However I did not get the flow.  Descriptive type of writing does not interests me much. There was a ship which could have save the boys. However, because Jack did not keep the fire alive. He hunt a pig instead. They could have been saved. They probably lost their only chance to get rescued.
