Alcohol is not good for the individual consumer, because of the health-damages and it is bad for the society as a whole. 

In Denmark there is a lot of your people drinking, which can have a negative effect on society. More people needs get medical help and are maybe not able to work and have a job.  Therefore is it very costly to have a high consumption of alcohol. 
From the 1 of January 2015 the tax was 56,02 kr. without vat pr. liter 100% alcohol.
