         <description><![CDATA[<div>SONAR é a sigla em inglês de SOund Navigation And Ranging, ou "navegação e determinação da distância pelo som".&nbsp;<br>É um instrumento auxiliar da navegação marítima, capaz de emitir ultrassons na água e captar os seus ecos, permitindo, assim, a localização de objetos na água, pois regista o intervalo de tempo entre a emissão e a receção do ultrassom.&nbsp;<br>a) Explica como é que o SONAR contribui para deteção de objetos debaixo de água. Na explicação, entre outros aspetos, refere em que consiste o eco e o que são ultrassons.&nbsp;<br>B) A velocidade média de um ultrassom na água do mar é de 1500 m/s. O operador de sonar de um barco pesqueiro observou no aparelho o registo de duas reflexões. A primeira, 1/4 de segundo após a emissão do ultrassom, era correspondente a um cardume que passava. A outra, recebida 2 segundos após a emissão, era do próprio fundo do mar. Determina a que profundidade se encontrava o cardume e qual a profundidade do mar. Apresenta todas as etapas de resolução.</div>]]></description>
