The National Association of School Nurses (NASN), in collaboration with the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), has released two valuable new resources:

1. Template Consent Form to support communication and information sharing between school and health care teams

2. Implementation Toolkit to guide effective use of the form

These tools are designed to support cross-sector coordination of care by addressing common barriers to information sharing, such as the lack of appropriate consent. The consent form is FERPA- and HIPAA-compliant and adaptable for use across a range of scenarios and jurisdictions.

• Awareness: Lens to Mirror: This pivot encourages better self-awareness by switching our view from a lens, or external focus, to a mirror for honest self-reflection. With deeper self-awareness, we can better contribute to the world we want to create.

• Connection: Transactional to Transformative Relationships: This pivot challenges us to create more meaning-centered, transformative relationships that draw on our ability to care and be vulnerable.

• Vision: From Problem-Fixing to Possibility-Creating: This pivot requires a new way to engage in radical solutions. Instead of staying stuck in the rut of solving problems, consider what we want to see and dream up ways to achieve this new world.

• Presence: From Hustle to Flow: This last pivot addresses how exhausting fighting for justice and healing past wrongs is physically and mentally, individually and collectively. Social justice workers are urged to cultivate spaces of solitude, reflection, and vision. This is done by ignoring society's emphasis on productivity and establishing boundaries for well-being.
