Jerusalem Bakery & Grill

Jerusalem Bakery is one of the busiest resturants in Alpharetta. On any given weekday, you can drive by and see a line stretching outside the front entrance. Standing in line and eating inside the busy resturant somehow gives a feeling of community and togetherness as you see working adults who are on lunch break all the way to kids from the local high school. This place was defenitely a hotspot for hangouts after school. As the orders ring in, the smell of shwarma and hummus flood the bakery.

Webb Bridge Park is a hub for competitive soccer. I remember spending Saturdays here when my younger brother played on his club team. My family and I used to pack up a cooler and lawn chairs to cheer him on. The park has become less crowded as COVID hit, but I can still remember the hot summer days spent cheering my brother on.

I played Bridgeway soccer from when I was about five to ten years old. Every time I drive past the field I remember spending Saturday morning and afternoons playing in the hot sun. The program has temporarily closed due to COVID, but on usual Saturday mornings the entire parking lot is filled with new parents and eager kids ready to play. Even though I aged out, its nice to see the program still thriving on the community.

The playground at Ocee Park reminds of the days when my grandpa would take me and my siblings here to play for hours. My grandpa would help us up the slide and be there to catch us when we came down. He would push me on the swings until I thought I could jump off and fly away. I don't come to the playground much anymore, but always see it filled with kids when I drive past. The playground now is still surprisingly busy with kids screaming and riding their bikes on the pavement.

Sand Volleyball Courts

The volleyball courts in the park are usually packed with families enjoying a game or two. My family and I have a fair share of Sunday afternoons spent here playing for hours. With the rain season and the pandemic its rare to see anyone playing on the courts these days. The gritty, hot sand would stick to your toes and clothes and drag its way into your car for days.

The view of Lake Windward specifically on Clubhouse Dr. is, in my opinion, the best view of the lake. The tress outline the blue, boat ridden water. If you are lucky enough to catch a glimpse during sunset, the red and pink color of the sky reflect on the water to bring a glow to the area.

Avalon has some of the most high-end designer stores in Alpharetta. It is a generlly crowded place as it is always bustiling form herds of the community. The crowd at Avalon is the most versitile. There are families to high schoolers to millenials all walking throughout the shops. The food scene at Avalon is what really draws in the crowd. More people go to eat then they do to shop. Many shoppers window shop as they try on Chanel sunglasses or walk around the Tesla showroom. Avalon brought change to the city as the community quickly made it a place to congregate and celebrate.

The nostalgic painted-on bear paws leading up to the entrance of the elementary school reminds me of all those years that I would jump from paw to paw, after I was dropped off, pretending I was in a game before walking into school. I look back on my time at elementary school now and reminisce on how we used to play for hours outside during recess, being oblivious to the fact that we were growing up. The school emits an aura of freeness and laughter.

The Alpharetta City Center lawn is the most crowded place in downtown Alpharetta. Many community and social events such as protests happen here. Families and young kids run around the lawn and play in the water fountain. The City Center has many recreational activities surrounding it to cater to the families that gather here. The busy street overlooking it emits car engine sounds that are drowned out by the local restaurants playing music.

The trail in the morning smells like morning dew. The trees provide shade and coolness as you walk through. The Willow trees along the path create a sense of peace and quiet.
