5000 BP-2900BP

The European bronze age began with the Aegean Bronze Age around 3200 BC followed by the rest of Europe about 1000 years later. The catalyst for this new era was the expanded trade network that brought tin and charcoal to Cyprus to be mixed with copper to form bronze.

Recent DNA studies show this to be the beginning of the modern European man.
"The biggest DNA study on ancient people rewrites European history. Modern Europeans were born in the Bronze Age after a large wave of immigration by a nomadic people known as Yamnaya who came from the Russian steppe. It happened in the third millennium BC.
"This is where we begin. We see that a large part of the modern European, genetically start here, "says study leader Eske Willerslev, who is a professor at the Centre for GeoGenetics at the Natural History Museum of Denmark."

7000 BC to 1700 BC

This timeframe was similar in Europe as it was in both Africa and Oceana in that it was largely defined by climate shift and the impact that it had on the indigenous people. Land masses near coast flooded and forced inhabitants inland. In the case of Europe some parts were isolated from the rest of the continent when the land bridge was flooded.
Stone tools were the most common artifact from the era and showed signs of use by hunter gatherers.

Saneda, Tori.
