Pathway to Teaching

I see my career as a bridge between the classroom and the workplace. With more than 20 years of leadership experience in human resources and organizational development, I’ve had the opportunity to design leadership academies, coach executives, and create programs that help people grow into their full potential. In the classroom, I draw from these real-world experiences to make learning practical, relatable, and engaging. My time as a Graduate Teaching Assistant and Ambassador at The Chicago School of Professional Psychology gave me the foundation to teach, mentor, and foster inclusive environments where every student feels seen and supported. Whether I’m facilitating a leadership workshop or guiding a classroom discussion, my goal is always the same: to inspire growth, connect theory with practice, and prepare learners for success in both their professional and personal journeys.

Teaching Philosophy

My teaching philosophy is rooted in the belief that education should be both transformative and applied. I view the classroom as a collaborative learning space where theory meets practice, and where students are empowered to connect academic concepts with real-world challenges. Drawing from my career in human resources and organizational development through the lens of business psychology, I incorporate case studies, experiential learning, and critical reflection into instruction to prepare students for the complexities of professional environments.

I strive to foster inclusive learning environments that value diverse perspectives and encourage students to contribute their unique experiences. Mentorship is central to my approach—I see teaching as extending beyond the classroom into advising, coaching, and supporting students in their academic and professional journeys. Ultimately, my goal is to cultivate leaders who not only excel in their fields but also embody integrity, adaptability, and a commitment to lifelong learning.
