I definitely think people under reacted as opposed to over reacted. I remember thinking that covid would only last the 2 weeks we were given off. I think it was definitely a reality check for so many people. I don’t think people realized how much their life thrived off of the social aspect of school and work, so when that was taken away, it was shocking to see how little there was to do when you’re not working or at school. A lot of things that we took for granted, like socializing, talking, being in a room together, were taken away and it really makes you value all the small details. The pandemic has also helped me grow as a person. When you’re alone for most of the day, for months on end, you learn a lot about yourself that you hadn’t really gotten the chance to notice before. I learned I can actually bake pretty well; something I never had the chance to try out before. I had a chance to slow down and try new things, like reading books and watching movies I hadn’t before.
