In this interview Eleonora states that she would use the new shaded area to eat and socialize more. Eleonora recommends adding fans to the new shaded area. Eleonora names protection from harsh weather as a benefit to the new shaded area.

Interview Overview:

This outdoor area is mostly used for socializing and eating, and the biggest concern is the health risks, heat, and humidity present in the outdoor space.

2.) Making a realistic invention that isn't too expensive and functions well is another issues as there are could be many high budget costs for the initial building or installation costs, as well as finding the correct material that is durable in many situations. This is second as it is very important, however protecting against the harsh sun and stopping potential health hazards from happening is the most.

3.) Long term maintenance is another important issue as if we want this invention to be long lasting, we need to constantly invest time and money to repair any faults as this is a space that will be utilized by many people and is meant to be protection against intense weather conditions.

The audience wants an outdoor area with cooling facilities to reduce the impact of the heat during the summer and allow GIS parents, staff and students to utilize it for their own requirements/ activities. This facility must be within a reasonable budget and not too difficult to maintain.

2. Why do they want it?

The audience wants such a facility because it will reduce the chances for heat related conditions like heat stroke, sunburns and fainting/ blackouts. Additionally, the audience wants to be able to use these outdoor areas even during the summer for different purposes and such features can enhance the spaces and allow for more usage.

3. What's stopping them from achieving it?

Budget and Maintenance are a big hurdle when creating such installments in school, because it is important to consider that different features, for example, misting systems and shades can be expensive to install, and will require regular reparations and maintenance which isn't ideal for school.
