H.1.3- How do perspectives of various groups on the Indian Removal Act compare, based on primary source documents?

In order to show several perspectives I decided to summarize the three documents I read. Andrew Jackson says that they'll like it more in Oklahoma. Things will be better for them if they move. The Cherokee say we love this land, we want you to keep the treaty and let us stay. We aren't as welly established in Oklahoma, we know nothing of it's people or land! The Maine Senator says that we have treaties that say we can't force them off our land and that we will help them in all their problems, Georgia is trying to take back the land and we're assisting them!

The purchasing of the Louisiana Territory changed America because it added steam to the idea of Manifest Destiny. Manifest Destiny in turn, was just people wanting to grow, and the land in Georgia that we still had no access to must have been frustrating. In the end we stripped the Cherokees of their land and forced them to travel hundreds of miles to Oklahoma.
