Don't cram - IDF's are a difficult endeavor that demand lots of thought. It isn't something that can be made well over night, you have to think from the perspective of a consultant and a client in order to have a well-crafted IDF, especially module-wise. (hahahahahahaha)

Know when to expand and narrow your focus - Sort of the "T" strategy where you want to touch on many points about the organization, but at the same time you want to investigate deep into the important ones. A well-crafted IDF knows when to explore and when to examine.

Ownership of Learning:

1. Managing assumptions - During my IDF crafting, I had to ensure that my own remarks and assumptions did not interfere with the actual events of the organization. However, there are moments wherein I resorted to these in order to complete my diagnosis (e.g., identifying the mental models). Given this, I am working towards learning how to balance the subjective and objective to construct a more accurate diagnosis for future and real-life clients. 

2. Time and task allotment - As I was chasing to get my IDF as soon as possible, I realized that this endeavor required careful processing and should not be rushed. Therefore, allotting certain days to accomplish specific tasks (a spread-out approach) seems to be what's optional for me when accomplishing my succeeding IDFs.

3. Being Deliberate - Upon creating my IDF, I was apprehensive with my themes. However,  my ments emphasized that what's important is to justify these and provide sufficient support to explain my thought process.

Assess Behaviors - After showing my list of initial themes, my ments told me to consider possible emotions and mindsets that influenced the issues. This learning was a big help as it led me to create a more holistic diagnostic model and realize my points of emphasis coming into module creation.

• Diagnosis - There are different ways to perceive and approach a situation, there is no concrete or definitive issue. Identified components will be connected to each other and it depends how you would frame and approach it.

• Framework utilization - Different frameworks should be learned or at least know that they exist. It helps to create a structured approach to modules--putting the organization to organizational development

What is something new that you have learned in your IC with your mentor?

• Organization of thoughts - She helped me with making things coherent, may it be in what I write or the mental models I make

• Maximizing resources - She encouraged me to explore the content library

• So much more T^T
